The current population of Plovdiv is approximately 350,000 and is one of the largest transport connections within the Balkans. The E 80 (an international route) passes along the outskirts of the city. Plovdiv is only a 2.5 hour drive from the coastline as well as a 30-minute drive from three large mountain ranges. Getting to Plovdiv is easily accessible since the city is home to an international airport. Plovdiv has a climate that is much like the Mediterranean: mild in the winter and hot in the summer.

Flourishing Plovdiv

Each year, Plovdiv hosts the International Plovdiv Fair. This fair is one of the largest to be found in southwestern Europe. You can spend many hours looking at the many exhibitions as people gather from all over the world. The International Plovdiv Fair takes place from May 6th to 11th and then again from September 23rd to 28th. The fairgrounds are one of the biggest in the Balkan area, boasting a square footage of 360,000 square metres. Over 7,000 companies will join together to show off their wares, taking up space in 24 separate pavilions throughout the fair grounds.
